Rate Plan Changes - US Networks
A PDF version of this notice is available here: https://ispwn.com/sites/ispwn.com/files/Rate Changes 2020-06-30.pdf
AT&T DATA-ONLY PLAN CHANGES
Firstly, as most of you will know, the AT&T plans available to the wholesale channel changed in April from being “unlimited” to having a 400GB cap. AT&T have recently announced their decision to revise that plan once again. This time, the data allowance is dropping from 400GB down to 50GB and increasing the cost. Any plans activated as “unlimited” or “400GB” before the end of the business day on June 30 will be grandfathered in and will remain as is so long as the account remains in good standing.
Secondly, back in May, ISPWN was testing a plan that is supposed to be flat-rate with no data cap, but we are not very happy with the performance of that plan. While we intend to continue making it available, it will be done so on an “as is, where is” basis.
Both of these changes are expected to be reflected on the next version of the rate-card.
VERIZON DATA-ONLY PLAN CHANGES
ISPWN will soon be introducing a Verizon plan with similar specifications as the now-deprecated AT&T 400GB plan. Pricing will likely be included on the next rate-card, but you will require a Verizon-compatible device to use this service (it doesn’t *have* to support LTE Band 13, but ideally it should).
T-Mobile/Sprint
ISPWN’s T-Mobile plans remain unchanged at this time, but there are a few recurring issues we are seeing in the support queue:
- Basic Plans and HD plans are mutually exclusive. It is not possible to apply the HD add-on on a basic plan, due to their systems disabling one option if we enable the other.
- Approved device plans may only be activated on devices approved by ISPWN. Currently this includes all Mikrotik LTE kits (with LTE Cat 4 modems ONLY) and the MoFi 4500. Mikrotiks should use either the auto-configure script (available from Mathew, compatible with Version 6.4x – a script for Version 7.x is in development), while the MoFi 4500 should be set up according to the configuration instructions available from Support, otherwise the service will be unusable. Approved device plans should use the apn “fast.t-mobile.com”.
- Approved devices may go on a basic device plan if desired, but you should use the APN “b2b.static” if on the basic plan.
- All other devices at this time MUST go on a basic plan and must use the APN “b2b.static”, including Mikrotik LTE kids with Cat 6 modems (e.g. SXT6, LHG6 etc, although these seem to lack support for Band 4 so we might not recommend them).
- We do not yet have enough data on the new Mikrotik devices with Cat 12 modems.
Voice Plans – AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile/Sprint
ISPWN is pleased to announce that we are developing new voice plans, with data ranging from a few MB to 20 GB. These will be available on all 3 major networks, and our goal is to have consistent pricing across all networks. These will appear on rate-cards in the coming weeks, and we will announce when they become available in Newsletters, Emails, Social Media and in Phoenix.
IoT Plans – AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile/Sprint
ISPWN is pleased to announce that we are developing IoT plans, with data ranging from a few MB to 10GB, useful for connected cars, connected sensors etc. These will typically be available only in bulk. These will appear on rate-cards in the coming weeks, and we will announce when they become available in Newsletters, Emails, Social Media and in Phoenix.
Did you know?
ISPWN rate-cards are updated periodically and the latest versions are always available for download at the same link! Wireless rates are updated most often, so we normally recommend checking about once a month. Wired rates are usually updated about once per quarter.
